1919Informal portrait of Lieutenant Coco Northover MC, 15 Battalion
1252 Cecil Ernest Northover of Collie Street, Fremantle enlisted on 19 August 1914. He had previous militia service with 86th Regiment. Unit embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia, on board Transport A55 Kyarra on 14 December 1914 as a member of Australian Stationary Hospital No 2. Promoted Corporal he was subsequently selected for officer training and commissioned in 1917. Although hospitalised for various ailments he served with distinction with 15 Battalion being both wounded in action and receiving the Military Cross. As an early enlistment he was on special leave in Australia when the war ended.
