1916Officers and The Australian Army Nursing Service Sisters on troopship HMAT Borda
HMAT A30 Borda was built for the Pacific & Orient Steam Navigation Company of London, and designed for the Australian emigrant service via Cape Town. Leased by the Commonwealth until 10 Sep 1917, she was a part of the second convoy from Albany in December 1914. HMAT Borda made 6 voyages from Australia with troops. On 19 Sep 1917 management was transferred to the British Admiralty. In 1920 the Borda returned to civilian ownership and returned to Australian service. Her last trip from Australia was in 1929 after which she was laid up before being sold in April 1930 to Japan for demolition at Kobe.
