Overview

B/W Print showing George Lucas on two horse lorry loaded with fruit cases , covered with bags. Man in spring cart with grey horse behind the lorry. 2 men standing on eastern footpath of Bay View Terrace, Claremont. Background shows J.G. McIntosh's butcher shop, bootmakers' shop, vaulted verandah roof and sun blinds. The shop woth the vaulted roof was a fruit merchant's, now the site of Bovell's (1985). This was before Mr Lucas moved to fruit shop in Bay View Tce (see 98.250). Background shows another horse drawn vehicle.

Historical information

Photograph probably taken by Tom McLerie, proprieter of Imperial Studio which, along with a billiard saloon, was situated down a passageway leading off Bay View Terrace eastern footpath close to where photo was taken.
