Medals - Combined Display of Imperial Honours and Awards
Commercially produced display of replica medals with descriptions of awards presented to Australians under the Imperial Honours system.
Located in the Traditions Gallery, this display is intended as an orientation and reference point for original medals displayed in context throughout the Museum.. Medals are issued to individuals for specific acts of valour or service. The policy of the Australian Army Museum of Western Australia is that medals should remain within the family of the original recipient where the memory of valour and service can best be honoured. If for whatever reason, the decision is made to donate the medals to the Museum, they will be received with honour and dignity to lie with those of their comrades within the collection. All medals are identified, archivally stored and those not on display are accessible and viewable with prior notice.
