Electric Jug - "HECLA"
The jug is pale yellow-brown mottled ceramic. It has a Bakelite lift lid. The appliance plug was inserted into the back of the lid which made it impossible to open the lid while the jug was electrified.
The company Hecla Electrics Pty. Ltd. was registered in 1922 and was based in Bourke Street. In 1927 their factory was built in Chapel Street, South Yarra. The building was demolished in the 1980s.
