Tapestry

Historical information

This tapestry was owned by Brian Hardy, who inherited it from his Aunt Cecil Growns (nee Hardy) in 1978. The tapestry has its origins in the 1800s when six sisters of the Day family from Melton Mowbray in Leicester in England, worked on the tapestry. All six sisters died young and never married. It is unknown how the tapestry made it into the family collection in Australia.
