PHOTOGRAPH: SUBIACO DRAMATIC CLUB IN SOFT-SHOE & SHEPHERDESS COSTUME
The original black and white photograph shows a row of six women, alternating shepherdesses and soft shoe shufflers. The shepherdesses wear knee length frocks with a hoop protruding from the waist and hung with strips of ribbon creating a lattice-type effect. The skirt is also hung with artificial roses.The outfit is completed with a little bonnet-type hat, also decorated with ribbons and roses and each woman carries a stick with ribbons tied around it. The other players wear the soft-shoe costume described in photograph P.85. 294. There is a copy of the original photograph.
