PHOTOGRAPH (DIGITAL): SUBIACO TRADERS ASSOCIATION FLOAT, FROM ALBUM 'CELEBRATIONS ON SUBIACO 1952'

1952
Overview

Image: A black and white photograph of the Subiaco Traders Association float, participating in the parade celebrating Subiaco becoming a city. A large, round sign is seen affixed on the bed of a truck/ute, reading: ' SUBIACO TRADERS ASSOCIATION MEMBER', in a large circle, with an even larger leter 'S' at the centre. Signage fitted to the bottom of the tray/bed of the vehicle reads ' Make ''Subiaco City'' your shopping centre…' and 'Shop in Su' - presumably 'Shop in Subiaco'. Servicemen can be seen marching ahead of the float, in the direction of the war memorial at the corner of Rokeby Road and Hamersley Road.
