A black and white photograph showing the backs of a group of spectators at Subiaco Oval. The men in the foreground are standing on various objects to gain an elevated view.
Left to right: Two men stand upon overturned buckets, two men in hats each stand on low trestle stools, to their right a man stands on an overturned 'Mobil-Laurel' branded kerosene drum. On the far right a man stands on what appears to be a wooden crate, with clasped hands holding a cigarette.
There are two hole punches at the bottom of the photograph.
Front: Has handwritten note: 'This box eventually collapsed under weight of spectators' [arrow pointing to the man on the far right standing on the wooden crate].
Reverse: has handwritten label 'Spectators at Subiaco Oval', 'SCC Files.'
Loose label attached with photo: 'Bring Your Own Grandstand! Spectators at Subiaco Oval in the early 1960's', 'WA Newspapers [handwritten underneath]'
