Katanning Rifle Club Shield
1912 - 1918A heavy wooden shield and stand and a decorative brass shield in the centre which has a plaque at the top and then in the centre is a sculpture of three prone riflemen in the foreground and in the background are standing riflemen, a women with an umbrella and an Australian flag flying at the top of a pole. Around the centre shield are nine separate small silver plaques, all except the two at the top left and right are engraved. Each has a silver hallmark. Each smaller shield plaque is attached to the wood via three screws. The centre plaque is attached to the wood with three screws.

On a plaque above the centre shield is stamped "Presented by A.J.TUNNEY to G.S.R. RIFLE UNION TEAM SHOOT 1910"
The top left plaque is not engraved. Starting from the top, the second shield on the left is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1912 O.ABBOTT 97 G.WOODS 96 W.MASSINGHAM 95 C.PIESSE 94" and underneath a total of the scores "382".
The third shield on the left is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1913 ABBOTT 98 WOODS 93 BUDD 90 MOORE 79" and underneath a total of the scores "362".
The fourth shield on the left is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1912/3 O.ABBOTT. 101 G.WOODS. 97 W. HOLMES 96 L. MOORE 94" and underneath a total of the scores "323".
The bottom shield is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1915 J.A. MELDRUM 514".
The next shield on the right is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1915-16 Won by G.WOODS".
The second shield on the right is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1916-17 Won by G.WOODS".
The third shield on the right is engraved with the following "K.R.C. 1917-18 Won by G.WOODS".
The fourth shield on the right (at the top) is not engraved.
