PLOUGH: STUMP JUMP
Four wheel, three tyne, stump jump plough.
Made up of parts from different manufacturers.
Most of this stump jump plough was made by Richard Bowyer Smith. (The way the stump jump has been fashioned suggests this maker)
Two wheels may be original; the other two are smaller.(overall the wheels currently in place look too weak to support the stump jump action)

Under Richard’s direction, his brother Clarence H Smith created the first stump jump plough in 1876 in SA.
Later Richard took out the patent on the design but allowed it to lapse.
Richard re-located to WA while his brother began to manufacture parts for the revolutionary plough in SA.
RB Smith demonstrated and marketed the design in WA with little marketing success. (See Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Bowyer_Smith)
