Lance Corporal John (Jack) STAPLETON, born 06/10/1888 emigrated to Australia in 1912 with his bother Richard Joseph SLEEMAN, and in January 1916 both men enlisted in the Australian Army.
Jack was killed in action by snipper fire at Polygon Wood, Ypres Belgium on the 26/09/1917.
