ASSOCIATES INAUGURAL OPENING DAY MAY 1969

This framed photograph shows a group of women preparing to play on the 'Ladies Inaugural Opening Day 8th May 1969' (as written beneath the photo).

There is an inscription on the back of the frame which indicates the photograph was organised and framed by Elsie Maurice (a foundation member).

A list of 18 names is also attached on the back of the frame in no particular order and not all the women can be clearly seen in the photo:

Bettine Julian, Thelma Day, Jean Turner, Audrey Hatten, Pat Holland, Joy Moylan, Doris Robbins, Betty Brooker, Gwen Roberts, Gert Shattock, Joan Day, Doris Monteath, Lois Packer, Ethel Crosbie, Beryl Forbes, Margaret Coates, Shirley Mackay and Dawn Johnston.

This scanned version of the photograph was taken whilst it was behind the glass of the frame in which it was mounted. This has affected the quality of the scan. Removing the photograph from the frame was not attempted due to the likelihood that this would damage the photograph and frame. The image has been auto-enhanced post-scanning.
