Historical information

The sickle was found at 239 Railway Road, Subiaco after the house was sold as a deceased estate. The previous owner had built the house in 1935. At that time the occupant was listed as Jno C Mackintosh, who apparently enlisted for the Second World War. For a year (or so) from 1942 the occupant of 239 Railway Road was shown as Woodhouse. However records in 1946 and onwards show the occupier was listed as Mrs Florence L Mackintosh, (John Cameron Mackintosh's wife).
