CALIPERS: SET OF FOUR

Overview

a) Simple set of calipers with two tapering 'legs' curved at the bottom and joined at the top by a solid rivet. The ends of the 'feet' are straight.
b) Small set of calipers, with two tapering 'legs' ending in a point. The legs are joined at the top by a small wheel and the whole is constrained by a circular piece of steel acting as a spring. There is a small machined handle on the top. Part way down and attached to the legs there is a bar with screw thread, with a milled nut which can be turned either way to open and close the calipers.
c) Calipers with curved legs, with squared off ends, joined at the top with a small wheel and held together with a circular steel spring. There is a bar with screw thread, with a milled nut which can be turned either way to open and close the calipers.
d) Calipers with tapered curved legs with rounded ends.. There is an additional piece of plate steel at the top of each leg (for strengthening?) with a flat headed milled edged 'screw' holding them in place. They are joined at the top, where there is a milled edged tightening wheel.
