Historical information

157 Horace Patrick Wilson of Victoria Park enlisted on 8 September 1914 and embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Ceramic on 22 December 1914. Promoted Sergeant in mid-1917, he was awarded the Military Medal for gallantry at Zonnebeke, Flanders (Third Ypres) on 26 September 1917. He died on 26 July 1918 as a result of his third wound in action and is buried in St Pierre Cemetery, Amiens.
