A coloured photograph of the boys sitting on their tube rafts and paddling along the river. Most of the tubes are black and are lashed together using cords and wooden slats. Most of the boys are wearing either a bright orange type I (offshore) or type II (near-shore buoyancy) life jacket (life vest).

There is handwritten text in black ink at the bottom of the photograph which says 'Swan Tiki 1982'.
