Roy Cook's Ferry 'River Queen'
Light hulled ferry with 2 dark stripes around upper edge. Angular structure/shelter built on supports covering the open boat. Skipper standing at wheel. Two men in hats sitting on right. Heading west, away from Claremont Baths, with houses and trees in background.
Roy Cook's ferry service ran from Claremont Jetty to Point Walter. The boat was named the 'River Queen'. The fare was 6 pence return. Photo belived to be original copy from a black & white glass plate negative in a collection found under donor's home. Photographer GF Yeats lived in Langsford Street, Claremont and then 73 Shenton Road, Claremont.
