Right hand side of unit encompasses the radio which features push button controls and radio frequency controls also various input sockets.

Was used in a house on Orlando Street in Kelmscott. It was retrieved from a skip bin outside this house Was made in c1963 in Australia. Was one of the last electronic valve appliances manufactured before solid state (transistors and circuit boards) became the norm.
The radio was manufactured in 1963/64 by Kriesler Radio Company in Newtown Sydney. Its model number is 11-95. The company was founded in 1931 in Sydney. By 1933 Kriesler was one of 243 registered radio manufacturers in Australia.
In 1950 the company was sold to Philips Holding and expanded into making televisions. The factory was closed in 1982 and the Kriesler brand was folded up in 1983.

Was manufactured in Sydney by Kriesler Radio Company. Was purchased by a family that used the radio in their Orlando Street home in Kelmscott. Some time in the c1990s the radio was tossed out into a skip where Robert Hart retrieved it, restored it and used it in his Roleystone home.
The radio represents the growth of electronic home entertainment that since the 1910s increasingly replaced the need for live performers to listen to music, stories and oratory. Now you could listen to artists perform their own pieces in the home and stories and news on the radio.
