PLATE, DECORATIVE - FLORAL AND BIRD

Overview

Round glazed earthenware plate. In the middle is a colourful garden scene of flowers and blue and pink cranes. Blue crisscross pattern around edge with 4 floral decorations. Maker's mark on the back which is a crown over a standing lion over a banner text above crown on banner and below banner. Numbers 11 and 23 stamped to left of makers mark.

Collected as a representation of decorative ceramic plates, popular in the 1920s-40s. Donor was from Thornlie
