The item belonged to the donor's sister Marie Young. She likely received the bag to carry her dress purchase from the store.
Kings Hall originally was used for functions such as balls, receptions and dances such as the popular 'Dorothy Dances', also 'Magic Lantern' programmes. Built 1902 it served these purposes until it became Timewells drapery store in 1952.

Timewells was a shop in Subiaco on Rokeby Road in the King's Hall building. The Timewell family’s clothing store occupied the building from 1952 until 2000.
