A mounted sperm whale tooth.

Tooth is 14.5cm long and has marks and several small 'red' scratches on it.

Base is made of wood and is oval shaped. The lacquer coating has flaked off in many spots

A small metal hand engraved plaque is situated on the base in front of the tooth reads:
'Tooth of Sperm Whale caught off Albany West Aust'

Historical information

Donated by Paul Jackson in c.2022. Possibly made by the donor in 1976 if the inscription indicates the craftsperson.
