ORAL HISTORY (AUDIO): BOWEN, KEN
1986Mr Bowen was a Subiaco Councillor as well as an active member of the Subiaco Historical Society who promoted the establishment of the Subiaco Museum as well as President of the Tree Society and Inaugural Chairman of the Dog Control Board. He was also responsible for a social worker appointment in the City of Subiaco, the planning and implementation of Subiaco Library, the kindergarten and Infant Health Centre. In this interview Mr Bowen discusses the American torpedo depot in Jolimont, and the free school milk scheme started in Subiaco. Both Mr and Mrs Bowen used to visit the Home of Peace to read to residents.
