Overview

Mr Bowen was a Subiaco Councillor, an active member of the Subiaco Historical Society and promoted the establishment of the Subiaco Museum. He discusses the American torpedo depot in Jolimont, and the free (school) milk scheme started in Subiaco. Mr Bowen was President of the Tree Society, Inaugural Chairman of the Dog Control Board, and he was responsible for a social worker appointment in the City of Subiaco.
Mr Bowen was involved in the planning and implementation of Subiaco Library; the kindergarten and Infant Health Centre. Both Mr and Mrs Bowen used to visit the Home of Peace to read to residents.
