World War Two era carved wooden bookmark

c. 1940
Overview

Carved wooden bookmark with an animal (possibly a dog) on the top in natural timber. The lower part which includes a slit for the paper to slide into, has been painted a rusty red colour.
This bookmark came from the United States with the two British War Relief Society metal bookmarks so it is presumed it was made around the same time.
