YARDAGE BOOKS

As part of the 2025 Australian Interstate Teams Matches, Golf Australia organised the preparation of Yardage Books for reference by the players from both the Men's and Women's tees.

The books are pocket sized guides that include details of each hole such as:

• Distances (from the tee and to the green)
• Hazards (hazard lengths and carry)
• Greens (dimensions, slopes, mounds, etc.)
• Observations (ground condition, reference points on the course)
• Photographs and schematic guides

The books have a light cardboard cover, page one is a legend of the various criteria provided, a single page for each of the four par 3s, and two pages for the rest of the fourteen holes.

The preparation of the books required survey work to be completed prior to the event to obtain the measurements and observations, as well as physically marking the fairways to identify reference points referred to in the books. From that aspect, as the reference marks fade with time and ground conditions change, the reference value of the books will also degrade.
