The Zebina Lane Challenge Cup (solid silver) was competed for by club teams from across WA from c1903. It was competed for during the Kings & Queens prize meetings. The 1903 rules were that it be competed for over 300, 600 and 700 yards, 7 shots at each Open to teams of eight (8) from any battalion, company, battery, or rifle club in the State of Western Australia. No man may shoot in more than one team. The captain and each member of the winning team will be presented with a gold commemorative emblem. Zebina Lane JP was Chairman of the NRA of WA at the time and a noted mining magnate. He was born in Bendigo in c1857 and was a mine manager at St Arnold Silver mine by 1872. He became a mining engineer and was the first mayor of Broken Hill. He arrived in the WA Goldfields in 1893 and travelled to London in 1894 to negotiate the stock exchange float of the Great Boulder gold mine. On returning to WA he became superintendent engineer of the mine. Later he brokered and was a share holder in a number of gold and coal mines. He died in Berlin from a failed operation in 1912 leaving a large estate to be inherited by his family.
PRC team members JF Ryle and AS Lillingston were prolific winners of individual and team competitions.
