“The original Perth club house thought to have been located at the old Karrakatta range in 1904 and then relocated at Swanbourne in 1913. In 1964 the club was forced to again relocate to its present [2000] site at Swanbourne, the opportunity being taken to modernise using much of the original timber. Below [attached to the back of the photo]is a small sample of the original internal framing boards.” “Donated by Connie and Colin Robinson 18.12.00”

The photo depicts Perth Rifle Club members in front of the original club house that was at the Karrakatta rifle range in 1904. The photo was taken to celebrate the opening of the newly constructed building on Proclamation Day. Proclamation Day was 21 October 1890, the day that Western Australia achieved self-government, with its own constitution and self-elected parliament
