Overview

Oval metal container with separate components for keeping food hot. The metal is badly corroded.
a) Base with fancy open detail to sides - two fancy white metal handles & four fancy white metal feet
b) Domed lid with central fancy handle
c) Removable shallow metal plate for food
d) Deeper dish for water inset below the shallow plate
e) Oval tin (100mm X 90mm x 40mm) on inside base to put metholated spirits/paraffin in - this comes apart and has three spouts on top to light.

Historical information

Could be heating dish from India as noted in Rica Erikson's original 1962 museum object list.
Comes down through Martha Sewell who married James Drummond.
