1983Nine photographs of storm damage to Bunbury Senior High School.
A severe electrical and gale-force storm struck Bunbury in August 1983, bringing winds over 100 km/h and destructive lightning that damaged buildings and uprooted trees.
Bunbury took the brunt of the storm before it moved inland through Dardanup, Donnybrook, and Bridgetown.
Freak lightning bolts felled chimney stacks and exploded power poles, while high winds uprooted hundreds of trees and damaged beachfront properties including Bunbury Senior High School.
