Property of HS (Harry) Whittington, 'Springhill', Brookton, Western Australia, Australia - 099

1937
Overview

The garden in front of the homestead. By the flowers on the rose bush it would have been the Spring of 1937. My father has aged. The soil around the home has lost its fertility and so had the soil of the paddock in front of the homestead. The vigorous fertility of the soil has been destroyed by the land degradation over the past years. We know about that now, but we didn't understand land degradation then.
