PHOTOGRAPH: THE LAST TRAM, ROKEBY ROAD
1958Black and white photograph taken looking up Rokeby Road and features the last tram making its way down Rokeby Road towards Hay Street. The sides of the road are thronged with onlookers and people can be seen on the upper level of a building at the extreme right of the photograph. A tape stretches across the road to be burst by the approaching tram. Some of the shop signs can be clearly read. These are: Georges Delicatessen - Coca Cola; Jones' Shoe Store; Chemists; Timewells.
