This beautiful gramophone dates back to the 1920s and was made in Brunswick USA. This stunning item is a light brown wooden furniture piece resting on 40cm high ornate carved legs.

The upper surface has three panels. The centre one is lifted to display the gramophone table, arm, speed and stop regulator (metal) with 'Musgrove Lim.' displayed in golden print.

The front of the cabinet has four doors and the two side cupboards are divided into several compartments to store records. The middle doors open to display the speaker. Each door has an inlaid irregular rectangular panel with metal door knobs.

In 2024 this item underwent conservation work, French polish was removed and wood fragments and chips restored. The top surface has been smoothed and refinished. The two cracks in the frame stand have been filled and repaired - these can still be seen for visual representation of the repair.
The lever handle has been tightened and will now allow the top door to remain open.

A coat of new French polish has been applied and the piece has been sealed with Renaissance wax.
