About This Collection

A diverse set artefacts and ephemera from the Albany Historical Society collection on long term loan to the Museum of the Great Southern since 2009.

This collection of objects ranging from examples of great war trench to patriotic fund raising button badges is on permanent display in the Defence Gallery of the Residency Building, part of the Museum of the Great Southern in Albany.

Some of these objects were collected by Private Reg Neall during his time in Belgium and France as a member of the 44th Battalion First AIF.

A young Reg Neall is here on the right , first row left amongst other 9th reinforcements of the 44th battalion.
