Educational bursaries commenced in 1992, to support regional students desiring a secondary school and university education. Within two decades, the scholarship program expanded to include annual post-graduate scholarships for medical, dental and nursing students, with an interest in rural areas.

CWA of WA launched Youth Leadership courses for girls and boys, (later re-named Young Leaders Weekend). The course aimed to develop friends, confidence, leadership and a sense of resilience within the next generation.

The CWA Wool Day, became of regular promotion during the early 1990’s. The aim was to bring country to the city, in support of the National Wool Day. CWA partnered with other rural-based groups. Forrest Place and the Hay Street Mall became a hive of industry with wool spinners, knitters, shearers, wool classers, sheep and sheep dogs, cottage crafts and fashion parades. The annual event was praised for being practical, inspiring, educational and entertaining.
