Historical information

WAY 79 was the official 1979 sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) celebration of the European colonisation of Western Australia. Numerous other events were staged under the WAY 79 banner, from yacht races to family reunions and street parties.

A Colonial Kingia Day was held at Bunbury Senior High School as part of the WAY 79.
