Diorama - Western Desert and El Alamein 1942
Diorama in 1:1 scale depicting uniforms , equipment and conditions experienced in Western Desert (Egypt and Libya) by Australians of the 6th and 9th Divisions 1940 - 1942. Original artefacts include mortar, "jerry" can, Africa Corps uniform and insignia, maps and battlefield souvenirs. Related stories include Victoria Cross award to Gratwick VC, South African Brigade and film in captured German camera.
