In 1955 Mrs Nora Price of Kelmscott, an experienced dramatist, joined the State Drama Committee. In conjunction with Nancy Johnston and Norma Moore, they became known as the 'Three N's' and were a very balanced team. The J Moore Merit Award was first presented in 1956 followed in 1957 by an award for the Best Entry by a branch with less than 20 members , donated by the 'Three N's' . This award is rarely competed for, because most branches entering the contests have large memberships.
