The nun is dressed in white and is standing at the head of the table, serving food from a large metal bowl to the five children sitting at the table. There are two children on one side of the table to the left, and three children on the opposite side of the table to the right. The young girl at the end of the table on the left is holding her bowl out in front of her as the nun serves the food. The table is set with plates, bowls, cutlery and glasses.
