The WA team was placed third behind New South Wales and Victoria. SA and QLD were fourth and fifth. The W.A. team (captained by Captain L B. Welch) was composed as follows: Mathieson, Millington, Starr, Halligan, Peart, Garrity, Harvey Gordon, Halliday, and Grossman, the merit of the performance of each man being in the order placed.

A Newspaper reported that "During the stay of the visiting riflemen every effort was made by the local executive for their entertainment, the visitors being also entertained at dinner by the Premier and Ministers at Parliament House."
