“The Sir Charles Merrett Match won by Victoria. The Gordon Highlanders Match won by Tasmania. The Northcote Match won by Western Australia. The Dewar Aggregate won by Western Australia. The Sweet Aggregate won by Western Australia.”
The change to 7.62mm calibre rifles (and subsequently the use of smaller targets) was arguably the single greatest change to the movement in nearly 70 years. Previously, the adoption of .303 as the standard calibre and metal sights in c1904 would have been the previously important change.
