This is likely to be in Syria following the campaign against the Vichy French in mid-1941. The tank in the foreground is a Renault R35 or similar Hotchkiss H35 tank used by the French forces in Lebanon and Syria. 3 Squadron RAAF was involved in the campaign using P-40 Tomahawks for the first time. A number of Hurricane squadrons including 260 RAF and 450 RAAF were also involved.
