PHOTOGRAPH: MEN AT HUMES FACTORY, SUBIACO

1943
Overview

Black and White photograph wherein five men dressed in suits are seen gathered outside around what is identified on the reverse as a 'Rear Bogie Bracket' placed on two concrete slabs. Four of the men are seen crouching, while one is seated in a chair. Three of the men are seen holding teacups and saucers, presumably taking a tea break. Two stacked rows of large pipes are seen in the background, at the right of the image. More large pipes of various sizes and arrangements are seen in the background at the middle and left side of the image. In the far background, the bottle kiln chimneys of the Calyx factory can be seen.
Reverse: '1943', 'Left to right, Mr. E. S (?). HUME, R. KINSMAN, KC. WILKINSON, THE FOUNDER, MR W. HUME, MR W. LE PAGE', 'Inspecting rear bogie bracket for bren gun carriers in 1943', handwritten in blue and black ink.
