1983Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by P (Paul) O'Hare.
Avon Location 10910 / Avon Location 21223
Comments: Some sand seams under hardpan. Old bank leaks to have blocks put in. Soil types were mainly tamnia, one section of coffee rock. Blue clay where sand seams struck bank has been stepped to avoid pools. Also slope increased to 5 centimetres. Rest of banks 2 centimetres.
Review Comments: Concept is good Paul, I think the old bank is incorrectly planned — money should not be wasted on it. If the two sand seams are the same one, then the overlap of bank should not cut the same sand seam twice. The sand seam by the creek may cause some concern. It may be part of of the original drainage line. If so then too much money or time should not be spent on it, only increase the slope of the bank into the drainage creek. I would question the flyover so close to scald or waterlogged line.
