Historical information

Originally part of Northern Division in 1953 became known as North West (Postal) and renamed Far North in 1957 and in 1960 divided into Pilbara-Gascoyne and Far North and changing the name from Pilbara Gascoyne and to North West 1967.- 1996.
In 1979 consisted of the following branches - Carnarvon; Dampier; Exmouth; Karratha; Marble Bar; Newman; Nullagine; Paraburdoo; Port Hedland; Roebourne; Shay Gap; Wittenoom;
