1986Surveyors Report on WISALTS Conservation System created by RH (Rod) Sawyer.
Comments: Due to the lack of time a lot of this is only guess work. There may not be as many banks as I have on this plan.
Review Comments: The bank as far as I could ascertain was constructed satisfactorily. The TD25 bank did not have as much depth as the D7. I believe the D7 bank had slightly more water capacity due to its increased depth. The topsoil was in both occasions fairly well cleaned up although the TD25 did leave some feathers on the first push. The clay lined seal on both occasions was satisfactory except for minor feathers of topsoil mixed in TD25 bank. I believe all throughflows were sealed. Depending on need for water to flow to dam I would have seriously consider blocks installed at least either side of rock outcrops. Some small tidying up was required at exit end of bank. Attention is required to the overflow of the dam as it stands. I believe the water level is a little too high causing problems on the track in front of dam. Probably best site for overflow would be south side of dam.
