Wooden height measurement stand, used to measure the height of potential enlistees during World War 1
The minimum height for enrollment in the Australian Imperial Force was set at 5 feet 6 inches (167.6) cm) in 1914. It was progressively lowered to 5 feet 2 inches (158.5 cm) in January1915 and 5 feet (152.4 cm) in Aril 1917.
