Property of N (Niel) Richardson, Tambellup, Western Australia, Australia

1981
Overview

Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by R (Rod) Sawyer. Comments: Clay layer from 9 to 18 inches average. White gum and yate country. Owner wanted this piece done as salt was spreading up depressions towards air strip. I tried to explain that the banks would stop the spread but to do anything for Jam Creek it should be done on both sides. Also Jam Creek starts on this property and that is where we should look to controlling water. However I feel that this much stone is at least a foot in the door and may lead to more work in future. As a matter of interest Jam Creek is the source of the flood in Tambellup last January. This document is part of the WISALTS (Whittington Interceptor Sustainable Agriculture Land Treatment Society Incorporated) Collection.
