Overview

Black and white wedding photograph of Otto and Anna Lipfert. The rectangular black and white photographs is glued to a rectangular piece of cardboard that has stained so now appears to be beige in colour. The couple of seated in the photograpph. Anna sits on the left and is seated in a cain chair and is wearing a dark skirt and jacket with a white frilled shirt. She wears a decorative pendant around her neck. Anna's hair is tied up and she holds a flower in her hand. Otto sits on the right of Anna on a wooden seat with padded material backing. His right arm leans up along the back of the chair. Otto is wearing a suit, with a jacket, pants and matching vest. He has a bow tie, and a flower in the left buttonhole of his jacket. Otto has a handle-bar style moustache.On the reverse side of the photograh the names 'Otto and Anna Lipfert' have been written in pencil.

Historical information

Anna's parent owned and ran the German Club (Vorein Germania') on 19 William St, Perth, WA is the early 1900s. Otto was very musical and played the instrument the zither. Otto met Anna at the German Club. On the 16th January 1902 Otto and Anna were married at the German Club.
