PAINTING: 'COUNTRY LANDSCAPE', EDITH RAE DAGLISH, OIL

1919
Overview

Oil painting of a country landscape. The sky is light blue blended to red and pink at the horizon. There are a number of trees on the horizon as well as three large trees closer to the foreground. There is a lake or body of water in the foreground on the right. It reflects the yellow and pink of the sky as the trunk of one of the trees. A road runs from the horizon in the middle of the painting to the bottom left. There is a person driving a horse and cart towards the viewer.

Frame: Moulded gold frame. Between the inner and outer raised sections of the frame is a design of flat impressed gold flowers.

Signature: Signed 'R Daglish 1919' bottom left hand corner.

Reverse: The reverse shows a thick wood stretcher with wooden keys in each of the corners. There are D rings and hangin wire across the back. 'Daglish' is written in pencil on the top of the frame. The frame is attached with nails and worn framers tape is around the edge.
