Overview

Silver gelatin photographic print in two panels of digitally enhanced media

Historical information

Recognising your neighbours and the interconnectivity of social relationships are exemplified in the photography of Christine Gosfield. Her composite photomontage 9/11…..defining home 2001 is an image of over two metres across including hundreds of portraits made after the events of September 11, 2001. Instinctively, Gosfield documented her immediate family and the people she met in her neighbourhood in two days, after recognising her own feelings about her own community and the impending war on terror.
